With their approaching fortieth(!) anniversary, SoCal thrash legends Hirax, led by iconic vocalist Katon W. DePena, are set to launch their sixth full-length studio album, Quicker Than Loss of life. So we’re thrilled to be premiering the influential outfit’s newest single from stated album, “Worlds Finish.” The closing observe on the brand new long-player, “Worlds Finish” is an old-school ripper filled with traditional Exodus rage and Present No Mercy-style riffage, a real throwback in the absolute best method. It was even partially recorded by Steel Blade’s go-to producer from the ’80s, Invoice Metoyer.

Quicker Than Loss of life is ready for launch on vinyl, CD and digitally on February 28 through Armageddon Label. Place your preorder right here or right here.

Right here’s what Katon needed to say concerning the observe:

“I wrote the lyrics in 2020 through the COVID-19 lockdown. We had curfews the place we needed to keep indoors. There was a lot paranoia and confusion. Issues like going to the grocery retailer have been weird as a result of individuals have been combating over bottled water and bathroom paper! Actually, it was very exhausting to get the everyday necessities, and the streets/roads have been empty. It was very eerie and it felt like we have been residing in apocalyptic instances. Folks have been dying and the homeless inhabitants exploded. The opening line of the primary verse says all of it: ‘Panic and chaos, the world goes to hell!’ To sum all of it up, it’s a darkish tail of a twisted time. ‘Worlds Finish,’ survive or die!”
