Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron has introduced his departure from the grunge legends.
The enduring sticksman – who’s in fact equally as well-known for his work with Soundgarden – took to social media on Monday, July 7 to announce that, “After 27 implausible years, I’ve taken my ultimate steps down the drum riser for the mighty Pearl Jam. A lot love and respect to Jeff, Ed, Mike and Stone for inviting me into the band in 1998 and for giving me the chance of a lifetime, full of friendships, artistry, challenges and laughter. I’m perpetually grateful to the crew, workers and followers the world over. It’s been an unbelievable journey. Extra to observe. I thanks all from the underside of my coronary heart.”
In a joint assertion from PJ, the band write: “From being certainly one of our first musical heroes within the bands Skinyard and the mighty Soundgarden, to enjoying on our first demos in 1990, Matt Cameron has been a singular and true powerhouse of a musician and drummer.
“He has propelled the final 27 years of Pearl Jam dwell reveals and studio recordings. It was a deeply essential chapter for our group and we want him nicely all the time. He will probably be deeply missed and is perpetually our pal in artwork and music.
“We love you Matt.”
