BLACK VEIL BRIDES frontman Andy Biersack as defended MÖTLEY CRÜE‘s poorly obtained 1997 album “Technology Swine”, calling it “fucking superior”.

Launched in June 1997 through Elektra Data, “Technology Swine” dipped its toes into techno and is broadly thought of CRÜE‘s most experimental and most numerous album, with “Magnificence” described by one critic as a monitor that “sounds nothing like MÖTLEY CRÜE.”

When requested by one in every of his followers why he waited so lengthy to share his ideas, he responded: “It is like they all the time say; generally it takes 28 years to defend a late 90’s outlier grunge document.”

CRÜE started recording “Technology Swine” with John Corabi as lead singer, however ended up bringing authentic vocalist Vince Neil again into the fold and releasing the document with Neil‘s vocals.

Final April, Neil informed the “Outsider” podcast that he was not a fan of “Technology Swine”. “I hated that document. I nonetheless hate that document,” Vince mentioned. “[There are] no good songs on it. And I informed ’em, I’m going, ‘This document sucks.’ ‘No. We like it. We like it.'”

Requested why he reunited with MÖTLEY CRÜE after stepping away from the band for 4 years between 1992 and 1996, Vince mentioned: “Nicely, when MÖTLEY went out [on tour with Corabi as the band’s singer], their tickets stopped promoting. And I used to be doing fairly good. However I wasn’t promoting out locations. I used to be opening for guys. And so their supervisor known as me up and mentioned, ‘We might like to fulfill with you in New York.’ So I flew to New York and sat there and talked to ’em.’ And it took some time for me to say ‘okay.’ However I lastly gave in and went to the recording studio the place they had been making ‘Technology Swine’, which was at [MÖTLEY bassist] Nikki‘s [Sixx] home. And… I do not know. It was dangerous for some time, ‘trigger I did not wanna be there.”

Throughout an August 2024 interview with Joshua Toomey of the Discuss Toomey podcast, Biersack mirrored on the “cringe-inducing” expertise of opening for MÖTLEY CRÜE greater than a decade in the past. He mentioned: “We toured with MÖTLEY CRÜE in soccer stadiums in Europe, and I believed, ‘That is the best factor that is ever gonna occur to us.’ And I will always remember, the primary present was in [Warsteiner Hockey Park in Mönchengladbach, Germany in June 2012], and after the primary track was executed, it wasn’t booing, it was complete silence, like robust, arms crossed, offended silence. And also you’d nearly want them boo at that time, as a result of if it is 20,000 folks and you may see all of them be lifeless silent, it is extra unnerving than listening to not less than some noise. So it could occur after each track. And so I am the singer, I am the M.C., I’ve gotta like, I obtained to say one thing. So I simply began saying to our drummer C.C. [Christian Coma], I’m going, ‘Simply go into the subsequent track as quickly as this one’s over.’ We mainly performed a medley of our songs as a result of we might by no means cease between the songs ‘trigger it was too cringe-inducing to must cope with the silence. We had been coming off stage early each evening on that tour, which a variety of occasions the manufacturing folks for these huge excursions like it. So on the very least they preferred us.”

Biersack beforehand talked about BLACK VEIL BRIDES‘ tour with MÖTLEY CRÜE throughout a 2021 look on the “Drinks With Johnny” podcast. He mentioned on the time: “I’ve all the time mentioned one of many excursions that, I assume, it did not shock me ‘trigger I did not know what to anticipate, but it surely definitely did not go the way in which that I believed or that I had dreamed or imagined was we opened for MÖTLEY CRÜE in soccer stadiums in Europe — that is 2012 or one thing — and we had been actually excited. We had change into pleasant with Nikki [Sixx, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist] and Mick [Mars, MÖTLEY CRÜE guitarist] and some of the blokes and we had been simply so excited to do it.

“We had been used to taking part in festivals or issues the place folks could be upset that we had been there,” he continued. ‘I had by no means skilled such a stage of simply crushing disinterest the place we might get executed with a track, and my job because the vocalist is to be, like, ‘All proper, all people,’ after which there would simply be only a soccer stadium filled with silence and other people simply taking a look at us with their arms crossed — not mad, simply not within the slightest. And then you definately’re caught with that bizarre factor of, like, ‘All proper, properly, this is the subsequent one.’ And also you’re simply attempting to get by means of the set in order that you do not have that actually awkward time in between.”

In Could 2024, BLACK VEIL BRIDES launched the title monitor from their “Bleeders” EP, impressed by Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler‘s “Sweeney Todd”.
