The primary winners of January’s UK Americana Awards have been introduced, with Candi Staton to obtain the Worldwide Lifetime Achievement Award, Lyle Lovett the Worldwide Trailblazer Award, and CMAT the UK/Eire Trailblazer Award.
A bunch of different award-winners can be revealed on the ceremony – happening at London’s Hackney Church on January 23 – with Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Waxahatchee, Bonny Gentle Horseman, Brown Horse, Katherine Priddy, Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves and Hurray For The Riff Raff all among the many nominees (see the complete listing under).
The ceremony is the fruits of UK Americana Week powered by Candy Dwelling Alabama, with a lot of showcase gigs happening throughout Hackney from January 20-23 that includes the likes of Chloe Foy, Ferris & Sylvester, Willie Watson, Robert Vincent and lots of extra.
