The Swedish post-punk and dream pop outfit Principe Valiente is worked up to announce the long-awaited launch of a beforehand unheard remix of “I Am You”, crafted by Brooklyn-based band Bootblacks.
Initially launched in 2022 because the second single from the acclaimed album Barricades, “I Am You” was accompanied by standout remixes from American bands Astari Nite and Solemn Youth (New Canyon’s Adam Stilson). Nevertheless, in the course of the manufacturing course of, one other distinctive remix surfaced – this time from Bootblacks – however remained unfinished and in the end unreleased. Refusing to let such a strong reinterpretation fade into obscurity, the band revisited the remix, reworked it, and is now proud to lastly deliver it to the world.
“Some issues are too good to be left within the mud”, says Principe Valiente. “We knew this remix deserved to be heard, so we took the time to finish it correctly. Now, we’re excited to share it with our followers—higher late than by no means!”
