System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian have named the music by his personal band that has confused him probably the most – due to frontman Serj Tankian‘s famously zany lyrics. In a brand new interview with Steel Hammer, Odadjian is requested by System fan Ariel Colton whether or not there have been any lyrics from Tankian that made him go, fairly merely, ‘WTF?’.
“Bounce,” he replies right away. “I wrote that music musically and Serj wrote the vocals, and it was referred to as ‘PJs’. As an alternative of ‘Soar! Pogo pogo pogo pogo…!’, it was like, ‘Da! Pisha pisha pisha pisha…!’ I used to be like, ‘What the fuck are you saying, bro?!’ Truly, each album has shit the place I say, ‘What the fuck is he speaking about?!’ Ha ha ha! However that’s a part of the great thing about Serj. He does that however there’s all the time one thing there for everybody to learn into.”
Talking on his Patreon web page just a few years in the past, Serj Tankian described of his strategy to lyrics: “I normally begin with the music first, after which I will search for inspirations. ‘What is that this music saying to me? What’s it speaking about? Is it speaking a few fowl? Is it speaking concerning the Earth? Is it speaking a few love? Is it speaking about politics?…As soon as you’ve got figured that out, then you might have your theme. Your theme’s necessary as a result of it offers you focus.’
System Of A Down not too long ago made headlines for some really awe-inspiring footage rising from their South American tour. Discussing why System Of A Down are touring once more after seven years, Odadjian notes: “We’re older now, and we respect one another, and we’ve talked. We’ve observed how social media, and the media usually, has swayed us. We’ve simply turned the whole lot off and… we’re grateful for one another. We love one another. Something that has occurred between us is minuscule. We’re simply enjoying, doing what we really feel like doing.”
